The department of obstetrics and gynecology is the division of Pruzhany Central District Hospital.
The staff of the department includes 3 physicians and 6 paramedics. The capacity of the department is 50 beds: 30 beds are for obstetrical needs and 20 – for gynecological patients.

The key objectives of the department are:
- to provide high-quality medical care to the patients with obstetrical and gynecological disorders;
- to use the advanced and the most effective methods of diagnosis and treatment;
- to promote healthy lifestyle among the population.
Activities in figures (anual):
- up to 280-300 surgeries on the pelvic organs.
- 1800-1900 patients treated;
- surgery task load index is 47.2%;
- 300-350 deliveries, including 25-29% of operative delivery;
- 48% of Cesarean sections are made under spinal anesthesia;
- 800-900 pregnant women treated.
The specialists of the department prefer using minimally invasive techniques. They also consult the patients, who stay in other departments of the hospital, and pregnant women.
To detect diseases, they use laboratory tests, ultrasound examinations, hysteroscopy, laparoscopy and endoscopic techniques (esophagogastroduodenoscopy, colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy).
